"A friend of mine referred me to Krista and I'm so glad she did.

She performed a miracle on my wedding dress. I had sleeves added to my dress but the sleeves weren’t adjusted to fit me yet. Krista was honest, she was fair and she was realistic, all traits that make her a fantastic seamstress and business woman. She had great suggestions and made the process so painless. On top of helping me with my wedding dress, he made sure that my husband look dapper in his suit. Since she knew that both our outfits were meant to be a secret, she was very sweet to keep that in mind when scheduling both our fittings. Thanks again for everything!”

How does it all work?

  • The first step is to schedule a ‘wedding dress consultation’ This is a 45min appointment for us to meet and discuss what alterations/ changes you’d like to do with your dress. This appointment should be scheduled between 10-12 weeks before your wedding day or the day you are leaving to travel to your wedding. My calendar is open and accepting appointments 9 months out. Please do not wait to schedule the appointment, I only take a limited number of dresses each year and delaying scheduling your consultation could result in my capacity being full

  • Once I see your appointment request come through I will review the info and decide if I can accommodate your wedding date. If so, the credit card used to hold the appointment will be charged $100. THIS IS A NON-REFUNDABLE DEPOSIT. This deposit is applied to your final invoice. If something happens and you need to cancel your consultation please contact me

  • At the consultation you will put the dress and shoes, if you have them, on and we will go over your thoughts and ideas about the dress. I will give you feedback about what alterations or design changes I think are needed. You will then leave the dress with me. A written quote and contract will be emailed to you in about 3-5 days. Once the quote is approved and the contract is signed the work process will begin on your dress. You will receive an invoice for an additional $200 deposit. This plus the $100 paid while scheduling the appointment meets my wedding dress minimum. This is a non-refundable deposit, but it is transferable. If you change dresses the $300 may be applied towards a different dress. Please get in touch if this happens. You may be asked for an additional payment during the alteration process depending on the amount quoted. Final payment of any balance is due in-full at the pickup appointment

  • Appointments: we will have a minimum of 3 appointments: consultation, 1-2 follow-up fitting(s) and the pickup appointment. Normally 2-3 follow-up fittings are needed. For dresses requiring a lot of work, like semi-custom or full custom dress, 3-5+ follow-up fittings may be needed. Follow-up appointments are typically 20-40mins

  • You must have your undergarments and wedding shoes by the first follow-up fitting. If you forget your undergarments and/or shoes at any of the follow-up fittings, a missed bridal appointment fee of $100 will be added to your final invoice. Please consider leaving these items with me- I’m more than happy to keep them with the dress.

  • Once your dress is finished and ready for pickup, I do ask that you try on the dress at the pickup appointment. It can be helpful to have a friend or family member present to review how to bustle the dress.  If someone other than the bride is pickup the dress, please let me know before the final pickup.

Hi, I’m a dude, non-binary, or a bride wearing a non-traditional outfit, what do I do?

Please continue reading, most of the info will still applies. When you schedule your appointment below pick the one that feels best for you

"Krista was amazing!

For us she tailored a 2-piece suit, wedding dress, and reception dress. Initially I didn't think I needed any alterations on my wedding dress, but after Krista pinned a little here, and tucked a little there, she made it look like a dress that was made for me! To the suit pants she added piping to have it match the jacket, and tailored the jacket to fit like a glove. She managed to take off the rack items and make them look like they were made for us. All of this happened during her busiest time of the year. She was easy to reach to make appointments, and incredibly professional! We continue to use Teton Tailoring for all of our garment alterations!

Timing and cost

  • Standard Timing: is 9-12 weeks before the wedding date. This is when you should schedule your consultation for. If you have questions or concerns about the timing please contact me

  • Expedited Timing: is 8-5 weeks before the wedding date, this is less ideal but sometimes still accommodatable

  • Rushed Timing: is 4 week or less, this is normally not accommodatable

Wedding dress alterations are as individual as the bride wearing the dress. There are no ‘normal’ or ‘standard’ alterations for wedding dresses and so it is impossible for me to give a quote or price estimate over my website, through email or over the phone. Below is some basic info about cost

  • All Wedding Dresses have a minimum of $300, this in non-negotiable. A dress that is worn to get married in is defined as a wedding dress. The cost of the dress has nothing to do with the cost of alterations

  • Pricing quotes are based off the amount of time I estimate it will take to alter the dress. Dresses with lots of beading, lace, horsehair, etc. tend to require more time and because of that, tend cost more.

  • The average range for Standard Timing wedding dress alterations is $500-$800

  • Semi-custom (major design changes, size changes, making a new skirt, top, etc.) range from $800-$1500

  • Full custom starts at $2500

  • Expedited Timing will have an additional fee of $300 added to the Standard Timing quote

  • Rushed Timing will have an additional fee of $600 added to the Standard Timing quote

But I don’t want to spend more than I paid for the dress….

Weddings are expensive and this is very common concern. The price of your dress has nothing to do with the price I have to charge in order to run my business. And yes, you may spend close to, equal to or much more than the price of the dress on alterations. Budget will be discussed during the consultation. In my professional opinion, an inexpensive dress with good alterations will ALWAYS look better than an expensive dress with half-assed sewing work!

Do you offer any on-site or day of services?

Yes, offerings are coming soon. Please contact me if you are interested

Okay I’d like to book an appointment now….

The 2024 calendar is full, no new wedding dresses are being accepted for the year. The 2025 calendar opens in Jan

"I can't say enough wonderful things about working with Krista

She completed the alterations for my wedding dress in less than a month and did an amazing job. When I found my dress, I loved the lines and the simplicity of it. It was just what I had in mind, but it didn’t really fit my body the way it should. It was too big in places, the waist was too low, and since it was strapless, I had to pull it up every five seconds. Within the first fitting, Krista was able to see where the dress needed to be altered in order to make it look and feel perfect. By the third fitting, my dress fit like a glove, looked amazing, and I didn’t have to fidget with it. Though there are always wedding day stresses, thanks to Krista, my dress wasn’t one of them. She was so easy to work with, listened to what I wanted, gave her honest opinion when I asked, and did an absolutely beautiful job. And on top of it all, her rates are very reasonable. If it’s quality you’re after, Krista is the one for the job.”
